The basics

Is Vee Browser free?

Yes. The app is free to download and use on Android and iPhone. There is no subscription and no account to create.

Do I need to create an account?

No. Vee has no account system at all. Your bookmarks, history and settings live on your phone. To move them to another phone, use a backup file; see Backing up everything.

What is Vee built on?

On Android, Vee uses the system WebView, the same engine that powers Chrome. That means websites render and behave the way they do in Chrome, and security fixes to the engine reach you through Android's regular updates.

How do I make Vee my default browser?

On Android, open your phone's Settings → Apps → Default apps → Browser app and pick Vee Browser. See Getting started.

Privacy

Does Vee track me?

The app contains no analytics SDKs and does not use an advertising ID. Your browsing data stays on your phone and is encrypted there. The Privacy Policy lists exactly what the app does and does not do.

Why does this website show ads if Vee is about privacy?

This website, veebrowser.com, may show ads to help pay for keeping the app free. That is separate from the app: the ads are on these web pages, not inside the browser, and nothing about how you use the app is shared with an advertiser. Visitors in regions where consent is required are asked first.

Is Vee the same as incognito mode?

Not quite. Incognito forgets everything when you close it. A Vee Isolated tab keeps its own private cookies and storage separate from every other tab, but it does not forget them when you switch away, so you can stay signed in to a second account. Use Clear browsing data when you want things gone.

Does Vee hide my IP address? Do I still need a VPN?

Vee does not change your IP address. Websites see the same public address they would in any other browser. Vee controls what your browser reveals, such as your precise location, cookies and stored data. A VPN controls what your network connection reveals. They solve different problems and work well together.

Are my passwords and bookmarks safe if I lose my phone?

Vee encrypts its local data with AES-256, using a key held in Android's secure key storage. Someone who copied the app's files could not read them. Your phone's screen lock is still essential, because anyone who can unlock your phone can open the app. See How local data is encrypted.

Tabs and location

How do I use two accounts on the same website?

Open the second account in an Isolated tab. Each Isolated tab has its own cookie jar, so both accounts stay signed in side by side. Step-by-step: Using two accounts on the same site.

I set a location, but a site still shows my real city. Why?

Vee controls the precise location websites ask your browser for. Some sites also make a rough guess from your IP address, or use the address in your account profile. Those are outside the browser's control. Details and workarounds: Why a site might still guess your real city.

Can each tab have a different location?

Yes. Every Isolated tab can keep its own location, even after the app restarts. Standard tabs share one location.

Is changing my location legal?

Choosing not to share your precise location with a website is an ordinary privacy choice. Using a different location to break a service's rules, or to get around legal restrictions, is not something Vee is for. Follow the terms of the sites you use and our Terms of Service.

AI Facets

What is an AI Facet?

An add-on that changes how one particular website looks or works, like a browser extension built for your phone. See the AI Facets guide or browse the Facets Marketplace.

Why are there only a few Facets?

The marketplace is curated. Facets are reviewed before they are offered to everyone, which keeps the list short and the add-ons trustworthy.

Do I have to update Facets myself?

No. Installed Facets update automatically, and never to an older version. Your settings and saved data carry over.

Your data

How do I delete my data?

Everything the app holds is on your phone. Clear it from Settings → Privacy & Security → Delete data, or uninstall the app to remove it all. The Delete My Data page covers every option, including how to contact us.

How do I move to a new phone?

Open Settings → Backup on the old phone and tap Back up now, copy the file across, then use Restore from backup on the new phone. See Backing up everything.

Can I import bookmarks from Chrome?

Yes. Export them from Chrome as an HTML file, copy it to your phone and import it in Vee. Folders and icons come across. Instructions for Chrome, Firefox and Edge are in Importing bookmarks.
