Privacy Policy

Vee Browser ("we", "our", "the app") is an Android web browser developed by KrisKraw. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app collects, how it is used, and your choices regarding that data.
1. Data We Collect
1.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us:
- Browsing history — URLs and page titles of sites you visit
- Bookmarks — URLs and titles you save
- Download history — filenames, URLs, and timestamps of downloaded files
- Cookies and site data — stored by websites you visit
- Site permissions — your allow/block decisions for camera, microphone, location, and notifications per website
- Saved location coordinates — custom location coordinates you set via the map overlay
- Location history — locations you have previously set, including favorites
- AI Facets — scripts you install or create for injection into web pages
- Facet storage — key-value data stored by installed facet scripts
- App settings — your homepage, dark mode preference, language settings, and other configuration
- Crash logs — error information saved when the app crashes
All locally stored data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption via Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences library.
1.2 Data That Leaves Your Device
In the normal course of browsing, the following network requests are made:
- Web page requests — when you visit websites, your device communicates directly with those websites' servers. We do not intercept, proxy, or log this traffic.
- Geocoding requests — when you search for a location in the map overlay, a request is sent to the Nominatim geocoding service (operated by OpenStreetMap) containing your search query. These requests include a generic user-agent string.
- Map tile requests — when you use the map overlay, map images are loaded from CartoDB (basemaps.cartocdn.com).
- AI Facets marketplace — when you browse the facet marketplace, a request is sent to our server (dev.kriskraw.com) to retrieve available facets. When you install an AI Facet, the script is downloaded from the same server.
- Notification icons — when a website sends you a notification with an icon, the icon image is fetched from the URL specified by that website (HTTPS only).
2. Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect, transmit, or store your browsing history, bookmarks, or any personal data on our servers.
- We do not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
- We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, or fingerprinting data.
- We do not sell, share, or trade any user data with third parties.
3. Permissions
The app requests the following Android permissions:
- Internet — required for web browsing
- Location — used when websites request your location (you control this per-site, and can spoof your location via the map overlay)
- Camera — used for WebRTC video calls and file uploads when a website requests camera access
- Microphone — used for WebRTC audio calls when a website requests microphone access
- Storage — used for downloading files
- Notifications — used to display web notifications from websites you have granted permission to
All permissions are requested at runtime and can be denied or revoked at any time through Android Settings.
4. Geolocation Spoofing
Vee Browser includes a location override feature that allows you to set a custom location. When enabled, websites receive the custom coordinates you specify instead of your real location. Your real GPS location is never shared with websites when a custom location is set. Custom location coordinates are stored locally on your device.
5. AI Facets and User Scripts
AI Facets are JavaScript code that runs within web pages. Facets installed from the marketplace are downloaded from our server. We do not monitor or log which Facets you install or how you use them. Facets run entirely on your device.
6. Isolated Tabs
Tabs opened after the first tab run in isolated processes with separate cookies, localStorage, and cache. This provides incognito-like data isolation between tabs. Each isolated tab's data is destroyed when the tab is closed.
7. Bug Reports
If you choose to submit a bug report via Help & feedback, the report may include:
- App version, Android version, and device model
- Screen resolution and available RAM
- Recent app log entries (filtered to app process only)
- Crash log if a recent crash occurred
Bug reports are only sent when you explicitly choose to do so, and are delivered via your own email app. We never collect diagnostic data automatically.
8. Data Security
- All locally stored data is encrypted using AES-256 via EncryptedSharedPreferences
- HTTPS is enforced for all network connections by default
- Third-party cookies are blocked by default
- ADB backup is disabled to prevent data extraction
- WebView file access is disabled to prevent JavaScript from reading local files
9. Data Deletion
You can delete your data at any time:
- Settings > Privacy & Security > Delete browsing data — clear history, cookies, cache, form data, site permissions, and download history
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data
- Individual bookmarks, history entries, and downloads can be deleted from their respective pages
10. Children's Privacy
Vee Browser is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Third-Party Websites
As a web browser, Vee Browser allows you to visit any website. Each website you visit has its own privacy policy and data practices. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of websites you visit through the browser.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
